total crap

This is absurd. People just need to suck it up and learn to spell correctly. We shall not bend the rules to accommodate their indolence! That guy should be ashamed of himself for even suggesting such a solution. And he’s a college professor, no less! Grumble, grumble.

  1. I think ben would agree that common misspellings should be accepted as alternate spellings. But, how is that professor deciding which are the top 20 misspelt words? I mean: “arguement” for “argument” and “twelth” for “twelfth” seems a bit of a stretch. “twelth” is shockingly wrong–does he really get that many people misspelling a common number like that?

  2. I know. I don’t think I’ve ever seen “twelth” before! That looks more like a typo than a misspelling.
